Purchases
How do I restore a permanent purchase?
On iOS, sign in with the Apple Account used for the purchase and open in-game Settings → Purchases and support → Restore Purchases. Permanent entitlements, such as ad-free access and purchased photo features, are rechecked without charging again. If the store is temporarily unavailable, check your connection and try later.
Why does restoring not recover my point balance?
Point packs are consumable products. Ad-free point bundles include permanent ad-free access and points granted once on the initial purchase. Restoring reactivates the permanent entitlement; it does not refill points that were spent or lost after uninstalling. The same completed transaction never grants points twice. Restore Purchases alone does not transfer delivered consumable balances; the separate planned-1.1.5 iCloud game recovery is explained below.
My payment is pending or my points are missing.
A pending purchase grants its entitlement or points after Apple verification and successful delivery. Cancelled or unverified payments grant no reward. Check your connection and reopen the game. If the issue continues, email your device, app version, product name and approximate purchase time. Uninstalling while points are missing can erase the local save.
How do the photo features work?
Your background and Custom tile photos are independent, one-time permanent purchases. Buying one does not unlock the other or ad-free access. Choose a JPEG, PNG or WebP image up to 10 MB. The selected photo stays on the device and is not uploaded to a Number War server. After reinstalling, restore the permanent entitlement and select your photo again.
Are there subscriptions? Where can I see the price?
Current iOS products are not subscriptions. Permanent features are one-time purchases; consumable point packs can be purchased again. The in-game Market and Apple purchase sheet show the current local price and bundle contents before payment confirmation. Real-money purchases are not enabled in Android or web versions.
Published 1.1.4: saves are stored on the device. Until the planned 1.1.5 release is published, do not assume cloud backup or Game Center is available. Check your app version in Settings.
Saves and progress
Where are my progress and points stored?
In the published release, game progress, point balance, missions, daily results, personal records and selected photos are stored on the device. You do not need to create an email-and-password account. The technical guest account used for real rankings is not a backup of this local save and does not transfer progress between devices.
What happens if I uninstall or reset progress?
Resetting progress inside the game preserves permanent purchase entitlements and a balance containing purchased points. Uninstalling or clearing app data in device settings can erase local progress, points and photos. Restoring a permanent store entitlement does not repeat delivered consumable points. Operating-system backups depend on device settings; Number War does not guarantee recovery from them.
Planned 1.1.5 (48): recovery and new play options
These features belong to the planned update; they are not presented as already available in 1.1.4. The options in your installed version apply.
How do I move my game to a new iPhone?
In planned 1.1.5, use the same Apple Account and explicitly restore an eligible iCloud v3 backup to an untouched save with no existing point or cosmetic value. The unfinished board, existing points/hints, settings and earned looks move together; balances are not added. Check or retry under Settings → Purchases and support → iCloud game recovery. Local acceptance does not confirm cloud delivery. Continue on one device after transfer.
Do rankings, purchases and photos transfer too?
Ranking identity recovers separately through iCloud Keychain and needs completed delivery under the same Apple Account. Locked, missing or conflicting recovery does not create a substitute account. Verify permanent rights separately with Restore Purchases. The consumable delivery ledger in the backup preserves existing balance without a new point grant. Selected photos do not transfer; choose them again. This is not continuous sync or a shared wallet.
How do I navigate a large board?
Boards grow to 64–224 cells after 501. Open Controls to switch swipes, movement buttons, two-finger panning, camera buttons and the board summary separately. Panning never makes a move. Replay the short 501 lesson from Controls and return to the same real board. Inspect is read-only.
Can I skip Golden Levels and claim milestones?
Every 25th Golden Level from 525 is a very hard, single-solution puzzle. Two deliberate taps skip it free without a win, ranking credit or completion reward. Reaching 1000 unlocks the Thousand Club gift; genuinely winning 1000 is a separate honor. The one-time gift includes 10,000 points, a permanent look/title and a hint refill to 12; already-full hints give 2,000 extra points. Levels 1500, 2000 and 3000 are permanent appearance goals.
Is everyone in Nearby Rivals real?
In planned 1.1.5, official tables contain real players. The separate weekly 10-seat Nearby Rivals group labels empty seats Virtual rival. Their progress follows a fixed plan rather than being adjusted to push you down. This group does not affect official ranks or league rewards. Weekly results freeze on the server; earlier unverified observations are not shown as official final results.
Gameplay
Why can’t I enter a neighboring tile?
In Classic mode, a number above your power cannot be captured. Captured tiles close and walls cannot be crossed. Marked tiles add rules: a direction arrow, a key lock, an exact match or a rhythm tile that opens on certain moves. In Operations, subtraction must not reduce power to zero and division must give a whole number. Follow the tutorial shown when you encounter a new rule.
Does a new-rule practice affect my progress?
A separate short practice may open when you first encounter a new tile rule. Complete it and choose Continue Level to return to your real board. This learning step does not change real points, Undo rights or Daily Challenge time.
How does the Daily Challenge change and score?
A new puzzle arrives each local calendar day; the same date gives the same board. Scoring considers moves, Undos, restarts and active play time. Time on the home screen or in the background does not add to play time. Daily score, the spendable Market point balance and the different ranking scopes are separate.
Why did a rewarded ad not grant a reward?
A reward is delivered after the ad network confirms completion. Closing early, loading errors or an unverified completion grant no reward. The in-game offer shows eligibility and daily limits; the same reward notification never grants points or rights twice. These ad offers are disabled when your ad-free entitlement is verified.
Rankings and privacy
Is everyone in the rankings a real player?
No. Lists can contain real players together with device-generated bot rivals. Do not assume every Global, Today or Daily Challenge row represents a real person. Weekly leagues label bots and explain the real-player standing separately; promotion, demotion and rewards use only verified real-player results. Bots do not have real player accounts.
Why can my rank differ offline?
Real rankings require a connection and server verification. Offline, the game may show personal records on the device, cached real results when available and bots. Check the source and freshness information. An unverified current rank is not presented as definite; the list can change with connectivity and new results.
How do I report or block an inappropriate player?
Choose Report or Block in a real rival’s safety menu. Reporting requires the internet and is confirmed after server acceptance; it does not guarantee an automatic ban. Blocking hides that player only on this device without changing scores. Remove a block under Settings → Blocked players. Bots and your own row cannot be reported.
How do I delete my account and ranking data?
Use Settings → Delete account and ranking data and confirm. An internet connection is required. This removes the technical guest account and related server ranking data, while preserving local progress and purchase entitlements. A network failure does not count as completed deletion; retry when connected. Uninstalling or turning off optional measurement does not itself delete server ranking data.
Where can I change ad choices and usage measurement?
In Settings, reopen Ad privacy choices when available and change Optional usage measurement. Measurement is off on a fresh install; advertising consent does not turn it on. Usage measurement is separate from real ranking sharing.
Updates and connection
An update screen appeared. What should I do?
Use Update in App Store, then check again when you return. In iOS versions containing this mechanism, the check applies once the new release is available in your Apple storefront. Local play remains available offline or if the check encounters a network error; the check does not erase progress. Older version 1.0 does not contain this mechanism.
What can I use without an internet connection?
You can play local puzzles and continue the save on your device. Real-player rankings, account/ranking deletion, store operations and ads need a connection. Uninstalling to troubleshoot a temporary connection problem can erase your local save.
